Microfinance Ireland are proud to be taking part in a number of nationwide regional events with the  Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in 2023. On Friday 22 September we attended the Building Better Business event held at Dundalk Institute of Technology.

Hearing from the experts

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Simon Coveney and EU Commissioner Mairead McGuinness spoke at the Building Better Business event. Topics of discussion included the importance of supporting local businesses and buying Irish and government supports available for businesses in the North East and nationwide. Minister Simon Coveney also spoke about digital transformation and the importance of environmentally friendly business practices.

Inspirational local Louth businesses attended the Building Better Business event and . During a panel discussion, they shared their business journey from starting up to becoming a recognisable and established business, and also discussed digital and green transitions.

Some of the guest speakers included Laura Armada – founder of Juiceworks, Ann Rudden – founder of Aine’s Chocolates and Fergus Sharkey from Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.

It was great to meet and speak with entrepreneurs and local companies and talk to them about the funding support Microfinance Ireland can provide.

The aim of the Building Better Business events across the country is to help businesses to navigate their green journey and boost their business performance through digital transformation.
