Microfinance Ireland wins InBusiness recognition award

The InBusiness Recognition Awards aim to honour and celebrate success, achievement and ambition within Irish business. The awards acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of individuals to grow business in this country.

Microfinance Ireland were delighted to win the award for Best Finance Provider to Micro-businesses and Start-Ups for 2018 at the InBusiness Recognition Awards.

As a not-for profit lending organisation that is government funded, Microfinance Ireland has a unique offering in the marketplace offering unsecured loans from €2,000 to €25,000 at affordable pricing (our interest rate is fixed) with no  fees or charges to micro-enterprises that are having difficulty in getting access to finance through commercial lending providers.

In addition to providing loan finance, we cover the cost of mentoring services for approved loan applicants. The mentoring services are delivered through the Local Enterprise Office Network.

Commenting on achieving the award, Garrett Stokes, CEO said,

“We were absolutely delighted to receive this our very first award in 2018. As a small not-for-profit lending organisation, it is wonderful for our team, Board and stakeholders to get such a strong acknowledgement of the work we do. Many of the small businesses we support are the lifeblood of their local communities but struggle to access funding through commercial lending providers. MFI acts as a catalyst for changing lives, by supporting these businesses and helping them fulfil their dreams and this award represents a strong recognition of that – of which we are very proud.”
